Plexibond is an original display and photo-panel technology developed by Fotogeschenk.nl in the Netherlands in 2012. The name combines plexiglass and dibond – the two materials at the heart of the product. A high-resolution image is reverse-printed directly behind clear acrylic and then optically laminated onto a rigid aluminium dibond back panel.
The result is a premium visual presentation with exceptional depth, intense colours, fine detail and long-term dimensional stability. Plexibond is produced for exclusive interiors, galleries, museums, hospitality environments, corporate projects, exhibitions and selected outdoor applications.

Plexibond is manufactured in-house by Proprints, the Dutch production company behind Fotogeschenk.nl and several specialist print labels. From its own workshop in IJsselmuiden, Proprints combines technical development, craftsmanship, project support and professional production.

The technology behind Plexibond
While many suppliers print directly onto aluminium or outsource traditional face-mount production, Plexibond uses a different hybrid process. Using professional Mimaki flatbed printers, the image is printed in reverse directly onto the back of 3 mm clear acrylic.
The printed acrylic is then laminated perfectly flat onto 3 mm black or white dibond using an optically clear adhesive film. This precise lamination creates a smooth and stable bond without visible air pockets, while the acrylic protects the image and creates its distinctive depth and gloss.
The material combination delivers a rigid, colour-intensive and durable presentation suitable for premium indoor environments and carefully selected outdoor applications.

🌍 International reference project: Datura World
Between 2018 and 2020, dozens of large-format Plexibond panels measuring up to 150 × 225 cm were produced for the international exhibition Datura World, curated by visual artist Jimmy Bollaerts.
The exhibition travelled to venues including Cannes during the Film Festival, Geneva and selected Hyatt hotels. The project demonstrated the suitability of Plexibond for large-format art presentation, international transport and high-end exhibition environments.

The origin of Plexibond
Plexibond was developed in 2012 by Wilfried Vonk, founder of Fotogeschenk.nl, as a durable and accessible alternative to conventional face-mounted acrylic prints. By combining reverse UV printing with accurate optical lamination, a new hybrid presentation system was created.
The name Plexibond describes the product itself: acrylic or plexiglass combined with a rigid dibond backing panel. Since its introduction, thousands of panels have been produced for private clients, artists, companies, project partners and international exhibitions.
Today, Plexibond is part of the specialist production expertise brought together under Proprints. The product continues to distinguish itself through its combination of clarity, visual depth, structural stability and durable in-house production.
